    China also focused on team based events that award more gold medals in comparison to individual events that only grant one. If I'm not mistaken, the US won more events than china did.

    I can't wait until 2012 - a friend of mine is training to compete in the gymnastics
    And well done to the British girl (sorry, forgot the name) who got bronze in the tae kwon do - first British person ever to get a medal in that event

    No, it doesnt matter if the event was team based or not, the winner gets one medal to their medal count.
