Hi, I'd been using cheathappen trainers frequently until about a half year ago, at which point they stopped working for me - I hadn't installed any new antivirus or anti-spyware stuff, and disabled them to test, but no luck there.
The trainer and game versions are right, the trainer is in the game directory, and I'm running both in compatibility mode as the administrator, but nothing seems to let me use them properly. Occasionally, when I do enable a trainer (as said) and launch a game, the trainer's 'activated' and 'deactivated' voiceclips play constantly until I end the trainer in task manager (it won't close otherwise). I played 'World in Conflict' with a trainer that worked just like that by disabling the trainer sound, and the effect was that ALL of the trainer options were enabled. Additionally, it said 'key 12 pressed' at the bottom of trainer window, when I alt-tabbed out of the game.
I play on a laptop, so I needed to use the trainer customizer to change the trainer keys to something other than numpad options, but everytime I open the customizer, the number box keeps cycling between random numbers really quickly, and the it displays the shift key as pressed. Someone else had a similar problem: www.cheathappens.com/show_board2.asp?headID=61057&titleID=13673 , but didn't seem to get a fix.
So, to top off this massive dissertation, anyone have any ideas on what I could do to get these trainers working?
i've seen this with a faulty keyboard or programs that are running in the background that are malicious.
you may have a keyboard key that is stuck or faulty or something that is viral or malicious causing the keyboard events to be trapped before the trainer can catch them-

I think it's probably like Cal said... something is interfering with the trainer's operation. Could be a third party app (like multimedia software) or a security app. We change our security template on the trainers regularly so it's always a good idea to disable antivirus, antispyware, and any other third party apps when downloading and running the trainers.
