Well speaking of Crysis, Guess what?

it will be more like the crysis...because it uses the same engine (Euphoria).

    Minimum Requirements:
CPU: Intel P4 2Ghz or AMD equivalent (3GHz dual core reccomended)
    RAM: 512MB (1 GB rec)
    Video Card: 6800GT (256mb) or ATI/AMD Radeon 9800 Pro (256mb) (ATI X..... 512 rec)
    HDD Space: 16GB
OS: Microsoft Windows XP and Vista
    Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

But even with that i say have at least an 8800gtx and that dual core 3 gig or highier and i say to be on the safe side at least 2 to 3 gigs ram.

i think crysis works on cryengine 2 and euphoria is a physics engine, i really doubt that GTAIV will have it integrated
as for GTAIV game engine, its some newgen thing they used in a tennis sim or something, cant remember the names. Rage, or smthn.

about ur sysreqz, i totally agree. 6800 is the ultimate minium gpu these days(lol)
but i think 1 gig ram will still be officially the minimum

I believe you're right about the RAM requirements. I wouldn't worry about the port. GTA has always been better on PC, and I suspect this won't be any different.

yeah but, remember dmc3, it was like for 64MB gpus, yet it was running at slideshow FPS even on the most powerful systems.
    every port needs decent optimization

your dead wrong about crysis. Crysis runs in CryEngine2 which is the most complicated and resource hogging engine ever made and it can't even run on the consoles.

GTA IV was built on the new RAGE engine that rockstar games made for table tennis and then they used it to create gta.

as i've actually looked into stuff, this will most likely be the MINIMUM specs for a machine with vista and this is assuming no DX10

    2.5Ghz dual core
    2GB Ram
    256MB Memory
    8-12GB of HDD

Now, for max look for something along these lines

    3.0Ghz Dual core or higher
    4GB DDR2 Ram
512MB GDDR3 or higher video card
    8-12GB HDD.

and that will be for like 1280x1024 with all settings on max, full AA and all that jazz. but either way the specs will be no where near what crysis needs for high/max

exactly my point. crytek even hired console programmers to twist their engine code around ps3 architecture, i sincerely doubt theyl succeed.

and i also dont think that 2gigs of ram l be minimum. i guess 1gig will be enough. but it still depends on the vista tho, the ultimate version will msot likely nee dwhat u wrote.

if your running vista you need 2GB minimum. XP would be 1. reason for it is because vista uses 2-3 times as much memory as XP does and if you don't turn off the sidebar and other crap running in the background you need that extra gig.

My computer, with nothing running still takes up around 600MB of ram and i'm on vista. love it but it does take up a lot of ram.
