I agree that the steering system is a BIT slow (about a tenth of a second, but that can mean everything), but I found that over time, I just got used to it.

Just got the game! The game really is fantastic when it comes to graphics.

And yes, the steering option gets well solved by using the trainer. Just raise/lower the handling options according to your convinence.

Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.

Yeah this game is eye candy but I think also maybe I am not used to realism with all the NFS, Burnout, and PGR games. This is more like Moto GP than typical racing. Frustrating to pick up and play to say the least.
The rewind feature saved this game from being a disaster. It really did.
At least someone decided to take the time to add that. Most games ship out, make the cash and promise something different "next time."
But there's been so many crap PC racers, and so many good console racers. There's no excuse any more with today's machines.
Oh you big bad anonymous internet commenter and master gamer, please enlighten me with your wisdom so I may one day be as good as you.

WOW played this game for about 5 min now and all i can say is im glad i didnt buy it this game. the streeing sucks your all over the track no madder what you do it the controlls 150 looks like 50 miles an hour so it dont change

    [Edited by moderator Neo7, 10/9/2008 3:25:12 PM]

yeah, the steering is definitely twitchy. Took a lot of tweaking the controls to get to a point where I got comfortable. What sucks is how the game AI never seems to be out of contention even when you manage to build a decent lead over the last place car, somehow cars way in the back manage to catch up and beat you if you make a small mistake, which is easy to do with the twitchy steering. Damage is easily taken as well, which strangely affects your car MUCH more than it does the AI drivers. Go figure. I used the trainer to finish the game to unlock the cheat options menu, but you don't earn points or cash when you win races with the cheat options enabled (like invincible mode). It's a great game to play in multiplayer mode over the LAN because there are no AI drivers. I play against my teenage son every now and then, and he always leaves me in the dust, but not nearly as badly as the AI drivers do in career mode. Great game for the visual eye candy and quite good for head to head racing, but lousy game otherwise.

Steering is twitchy but also realistic, if you compare real driving with NFS you got it all wrong since NFS is an arcade racing game and does not focus on realism and no way close to driving simulations but making it look badass and making the game more fun than realistic. But of course it depends on which kind of person you are if you like realism that makes you feel like you are the character in a game.
This game is really based on race driving simulation and if it was arcade it proberly wouldent have been able to hire a team mate.

if the steering is twitchy your frame rate is too low. you need to lower the graphics setting to increase your frame rate.

I noticed this when I installed it on my slower computer (2.8 ghz pentium D with a 1gig GT9500) to play over LAN. I lowered the settings to 1024x768 on medium and it runs as smooth as my core 2 quad with a GTX280. does not look as good/sharp and you can notice the lower frame rate, smoke fog and shadows still look good but its absolutely controllable with a steering wheel and even super with xbox360 controller. More fun than the last Few NFS. if you want simulation get Rfactor. this game is FUN. I got mine at Gamestop for 14.99 you cant beat that.

GRID is a racing game for console users that have a little more skill in grand turismo. NOT for pc NOT for players lacking any driver skill.

Ya no doubt. First off, if you're a sucky driver IRL, you're not gonna match up good here. Second, using normal PC controls loses the feel. I've got my PS3 controller plugged in and my bro uses my wheel. So it's pretty nice. Game kicks ass and the graphics are gorgeous. (Good PC best settings so ya...lol)
