OK,i have a question where do i get large monster bones and i need a tip on how to kill a rathian

i can kill kut-ku pretty easy and gypcrerous but for me rathian is hard well...
not really but my bro sucks at it
he used all 3 of his lives once and i didnt die a single time i cut its tail of and its horns i was so freakin frustrated ive been trying to kill something like that for ages HELL!
