    I wanted to go back and pick this game up, but I've nevered played a game on my computer I was wondering since it's pretty old would it work for a Compaq Presario F730US with Vista?

    I'm pretty sure you should check your graphics card because alot of older games are made for...
    older graphics cards, because they really can't adjust to something, that technically, in their time, didn't exist.

    Your only problem might be Vista.

    I've played it on my XP machine with a E6850 proc and a GeForce 880GTX.

    Does anyone know a way to stop this game from crashing on Windows Vista?

    Downgrade to Windows XP.
