Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Message Board  

I was playing Vice City a while ago and somehow the CD was misplaced, after playing GTA IV I wanted to play the others again so I downloaded VC from Steam. Everything works fine except the saved game file, its recognized on the save games screen, yet when I attempt to load it, a new game starts.
I assume the problem is caused because the save game was for the DVD version of the game, but I want to know if there is any way to make the save file loadable again
