Good, glad to hear you have it up and running and that you enjoy the mod.
On an unrelated tangent... For those who have been following along on the plagiarism of Ewiger Krieg by someone on another site, the matter was never resolved either way by filefront, and of course the thief k22 has long since disappeared, however a pleasant side-effect of 2.400 patch (and beyond) is that his stolen version of the mod is no longer compatible with the updated game!
Seeing that he obviously doesn't have the knowledge or ability to actually make the mod in the first place, much less keep it up to date, he therefore has a mod that doesn't work but for a very specific (and now online-incompatible) version of the game, so in a weird way Relic studios has helped me to prove once and for all that my Ewiger Krieg is the one, and only, true version of the mod (and I didn't have to steal anything from anyone to make it!)
So now I'm extra pleased with the release of 2.400 on through Tales of Valor (2.500-2.501) because it's settled that matter once and for all.
Hmm... I was wondering is it working in multiplayer too because i didnt see any servers..
Thnx Syync.
All I can do is say, as I have always officially said, if you can get Ewiger Krieg to play online, LAN, or other, then by all means play to your heart's content. However it is not now, nor has it ever been specifically tailored for multi-player and as such I can't reasonably provide support in that area because of the logistical nightmare it would quickly become...
I never built Ewiger Krieg to be perfectly fair and balanced, but I have made some efforts to keep things from going completely out of hand (sharing of mortar bunkers and pantherturms across all factions for instance) since the German factions were rapidly growing out of control. I've given the allies every conceivable variety of commando, so for infantry sake they are pretty much "covered" and can play a strong anti-armor role without having to try and meet Germany tank-for-tank, so while their armor variety covers many different needs well, it can leave the heavy end wanting.
Yah its cool and i like that
Well i hope it will grow bigger and bigger
Are you going to update it to 2.502 too ???
Well, so long as 2.502 doesn't add ever more formatting changes (which theoretically we should have hurtled now), then it will be 2.502 compatible already.
Ewiger Krieg itself doesn't actually have compatibility issues with the game, what keeps happening is that Relic has changed some of the .module formatting and how some things of that nature are actually going to be "used" by the game when they are called upon to change the pre-defined rules of the game. As a result, 2.400 changed things a good bit, and the entire mod had to be updated, .module file as well as all the attribute files (which was tedious to no end), however they really didn't "change" what they were doing.
The .module file structure changed yet again with 2.500, as I figured it would, but was cautiously optimistic that it may not. Now there are several external .module files that are considered "child" .module files to the larger "parent" .module file, and so that link needed to be preserved, all the while ensuring that the proper calls were made within the parent .module file as well.
All in all, while inconvenient, it has helped me stop a plagiarist by default since he can't update his stolen version of my mod since he doesn't know how. Meanwhile, with some of the new features of ToV, I may have another trick or two up my sleeve that could make things interesting...
