Hi,
i tested your Ewiger Krieg mod, it's very nice, but i missed the new units from ToV, like the Geszchuthzwagen etc, so my question was if you can make an update with the new units in them, M18 hellcat etc.
Best regards,
jozty
Patience is a virtue... I've been working on that, the interim versions were to provide support and allow for sufficient time to investigate if/how to even put the new units in the game.
That being said, I've made great strides and can now oblige said request with the newest Ewiger Krieg 4-12-09.
I'm sure the boys in here have fantasized about three way action before, but this isn't likely what they had in mind... That being now Ewiger Krieg has three versions packed into the one file for simplicity sake of the end-user(s) and of course it helps me by knowing that regardless of what version you're playing you will have all three packages on hand, so picking the right one for you is just a matter of reading the appropriate label on the three files within and unpacking the one you need. The size of the file is still quite modest really, under 7MB which isn't all that much by today's standards.
Anyway, enough with the irrelevancies... The newest version of Ewiger Krieg now has the much desired new units, and without the necessity of replacing pre-existing units. The M18 hellcat, T17 Armored car, Kangaroo carrier, Staghound Armored car (alternate version of T17 for British Commonwealth), Schwimmwagen Type 166, Schwimmwagen Type 128, Geschutzwagen H39, and the Hotchkiss light tank.
Most of them, to me at least, seem fairly mundane, however a few really shine... The M18 is fun and can even go into "ambush mode" (which makes me happy, now the Allies have something like the Camo Panther), but the two shining stars in my mind are the Geschutzwagen 39 and the Hotchkiss. The former can fire quickly, does great damage, and has impressively long range, while the Hotchkiss can get stuka rocket launchers and is like a small, fast, anti-infantry version of the Calliope Sherman for the Germans.
Very interesting stuff... also, there are some other things I noticed while poking around in the files (not in EK mind you, just interesting), like what appears to be an early "test" version of the Geschutzwagen but apparently it doesn't have all of the tracking animations linked nor does it have a "crew" set for it. What's funny about it is that it can be facing straight ahead, and fire left, right, behind itself, and so I've dubbed it the "curve ball tank killer"... Not likely to make an appearance in a release version of EK, but amusing none the less.
Anyway, thanks to all for your support, and as always enjoy!
I can not really imagine the world without You. They say "everyone is replaceable or sometimes expendable", but not You. Great work again and only left for us is to say thanks.
Ummm... I'm sorry, but I just don't think about you -that- way...
Enjoy the mod, and let's just stay friends
