Medieval 2: Total War Kingdoms Message Board  

Ok, so I bought the retail version of Total War a couple of months ago, and just purchased Kingdoms through Steam. Apparently this was stupid since, although it says on the Steam Kingdoms Store Page that the digital version is compatible with the boxed retail version of Total War, it doesn't work. I've read on several different forums that the digital expansion won't run off of the original retail cd....is there any way around this? When I try to launch, it says "Preparing to Launch..." for a few secs, then nothing happens.
