I think we need some basic requirements, like the ones darkish metioned, then have a quiz to determine whether or not the person makes it in.
We'll act really serious about the quiz, and make the questions extremely hard.
However, passing or failing the quiz will have no bearing on whether the person is accepted or not, it's all to get a reaction. We could accept people based on whether or not they play along, or just have fun with it and snicker behind the applicant's back the entire time <_<
This would only work if everyone played along though. An "applications" topic might not be a bad idea to store the quizzes and such either. Meh, just an idea.
Are you proposing that the test be standardised, or that there should be a different test for each applicant? But also bear in mind that we have to watch out that we don't discriminate too much against newly joined members, who might be good posters, but not have been around when the group was launched. I cannot for the life of me think what the test would consist of.
