That's absolutely not true. I run a single 8800GT, 4gig ram, 2,8 dual core processor and the game runs with a steady 30-40 fps. None of my setting are lower than high, some of them tweaked to go higher. That's unfortunately without Anti Aliasing, but as far as I can tell, the difference between none and 8x is nearly unnoticeable in the game. The problem is that due to the extensive foliage, 8x anti aliasing doesn't do well at all. It should be at at least 16x but that is hardly manageable on any hardware.
