But it is a scary thought, that any day millions could die just like that *clicks fingers* and many, many more will suffer for a long, long time. Constant cold, severe lack of drinkable water, burning ashes floating from the sky. Those who survive the initial blast will face tough times, and will more than likely lose hope.
But perhaps we could live like in that movie, the city of ember? Underground I mean, it would shelter people from the ashes, and underground its always a constant temperature. But then there is the danger of cave in's, food and water.
That probably would happen, move underground. At least in the US.
But if you want to get all mythological, you could place this under the beliefs of the star people(I forgot their name).
They believe that there has been 3 previous worlds and that we may face the same fate again. They believe that the guardians of the sky told the Creator that his finest creation (humans) was a disgrace and was acting horable. So the creator destroyed the earth and started again.
They had a temple/building that had a spiral on it and they had holes in the walls that had slivers or spikes of light from the sun hit the wall, and as the day moved on the spears would go up the wall, and if it hit the middle of the spiral then the earth was in balance, but if it was off, the world was imbalanced.
They believe that the creator would unbalance the earth and tilt it before it was destroyed.
If these people are right, and this is what happen(you can believe what you want) then it is happening.
The earthquake in Chile knocked the axis 3 inches out of place. Imagine what this volcano would do.
So the Mayans beleive in 2012 something bad would have happen if they did not do a ritual, and teh "Star People" think the creator will unbalance the planet and destroy it. We are already unbalanced, 2012 no one knows for sure. Could this volcano be it?
Why are the Star People so special? A bunch of people (who are long dead) vaguely predict the end of the world (not even bothering to give a date), and you just believe them? What even qualifies them to predict such things? And don't even get me started on the Mayans and their "predictions".
If you notice I said If you wish to see it mythological, and I said you can if you want to believe.
I do not believe either of the two, i was just stating facts that I have accumulated.
The star people was just the one that was freshest on my mind.
Sorry if I offended you, was just stating what little I knew on peoples beliefs about this stuff.

Maybe this will do good in the long term? We'll be forced to start over and it'll be a chance to fix our mistakes. There will be fewer humans and chances are that the ones who survived will be stronger both mentally and physically. Those with anything that effects their health like heart problems or asthma could be wiped out. Any gene related problems could be wiped out and clean out the gene pool. It'll be like natural selection.
You could say the same thing walking around with a gun in your hand, it doesn't make it right. If this comes to be, I will do my best to help those less able then me to survive, if I can.
