Dowloaded items or CC- to find the correct place for them, go to your sims2 folder open that and you should see a folder called Downloads, if not then create one, be sure to have the D capitalized, then place all items you download in that folder.

To make a sim fall in love you can either use a game mod, or the "old fashioned way" by making them talk and become friends first ( watch the relationship panel for the level to go up) then began flirting, then once they develop a crush try kissing.
To bring back a dead loved one. either with a game mod download or with the boolprop cheat. ( i find with the boolprop cheat that the resurected sim always returns to ghost for, but with the game mod, it doesnt.( not sure if its allowed to actually say the name of the item) i have come across plent of boards that wont allow discussion of it)
Alien abductions( download hacked telescope) and your sim will get pregnant more often and get abducted everytime)
Wearing diffrent maternity clothes, you can download a special hack by squinge for this, it will allow your prenant sim to wear anything, but be warned soem clothes will not show the bump) you will need to download the custom maternity clothes ( well worth it they look great)
Getting sims to do funny stuff, like playing in the bath tub, lol, your sim needs to be a very outgoing sim for this option to be avaliable when you click the bath tub.
Changing sim details such as Name, aspiration, atterations, wants, yes it can all be down with a game mod ( might have to just contact me to get the info on that one)
adopting townies and NPCs, yes it can be donw with.. you guessed it " The Game Mod Thingy" ( btw thats not what its called hehe) i have on many occasions adopted child and teen townies and also created families with the child or teen townies last name just so i can summon the to the lot them add them to the familes; for example Meadow Thayer, i have hear shes a big fav. so i added her to a family.
also some od things you can do: summon the thearapist, social bunny, death, or any odd sim, then pause and use " The Game Mod Thingy" to make a household sim pregnant with death, thearapist or social bunnys baby hehe, its funny, especially when you ad one of them to the household , well you cant see them but when loading the family they show on that page.
Teleporting, yes walking is a thing of the past, you know those slow sims that just take there time, or the sims with huge home, it takes way to long to get downstairs and out the door so use a teleporter , so much easier ( downloaded item)
default replacements: you know how unattractive the maxis based items can be to many simmers, well some sites offer default replacements. just place them in your Downloads folder and it will replace the defaults.
Getting extra money- yes there is the boolprop cheat for that you type in kaching or motherload, or use the game mod. to make your sim a billionaire( or be patient and wait for all of those job promotions to pay off, some may find that more rewarding.
changing hair and makeup- i am sure most of you already know this, but here it is just in case, use a mirror, click on it then click change appearance.
ok if you have an issue with an Custom Content, downloaded items not showing up, it will be due to not having th mesh ( the base part of the item) its like the skeleton of the item, you have to have it) also be sure the object you download doesnt require an EP you do not have, if so the item will not show up.
