When you open the game, go online and it'll ask you to log-in to GFWL (Games for Windows - LIVE) and it'll (if your first time) ask you to log in using your Windows Live ID credentials (Your email and password that is associated with your gamertag) it'll then download your profile and auto-download the patch.
