I also have 1.0. Code will not activate for me either.

For some reason the ability to "cheat" in this game has been squashed. You could use ArtMoney to edit stats which should work for resources and gold just fine.

If you're a Mac user as well - like me.. There is not memory editor available to do this. TheCheat no longer works in OS X.

Anyone know how to get these working again?

OK- I posted this in a new thread but the answer not otherwise added anywhere else is that when you do finally get the console up you need to type: enable_cheats

then press enter. You will then see a confirmation of the enable and you can use the other commands to get what you want. NOTE: with every new scenario you'll need to re-enter the 'enable_cheats' command before those commands will work.

i can't even get the cheatbox or what it's called to pop up. does it make any differance if i use wordpad insted of notepad?

i cant do it either, it wont let me edit the file. it says
"cannot create make sure the path is correct"

Ok let's get a real answer: for whatever reason the directions said to look for an autoconfig file in the Profile folder (go to My Documents and find the HoMM5 program folder--not the install folder). In the Profile folder there is a file called "Global". Right-click and Open With Notepad. Just copy and paste the cheat line at the end of short list of code in the file then Save. For Your Information: before changing the Global file, I did start the game, created a Profile in HoMM5, started Mission 1, saved, then exited the game, then I edited the Global file (at that time the file only had 2 lines of code). REMEMBER: THIS IS ONLY FOR VERSION 1.0 OF THE GAME!

Yeah, unlike some tech-support (like at some hit Warez sites) that simply guess at solutions, I actually did this, went through my own steps, and confirmed that it worked.
