the official announcement is still for 1st quarter 2008.
nothing more precise, but no delay announcement (yet ?)...
It seems the release is now pushed back to... august 2008. and the delay may be longer.

It pains me when developers announce a sequel to an already Fantastic game (and i do believe that S.T.A.L.K.E.R S.O.C was one of the best FPS games i have ever played), intice you with all the hype, give you screenshots, tell you all the new features in it.... and then put back the release date further and further into the future.
Its just plain wrong, and its about time the gaming industry stopped disillusioning its ardent fans by announcing games Waaaaaay before they will be available. it creates false hope, and will eventually be detrimental to the name of the company as more and more fans get despondant with the creators.
Why dont the developers announce the new release a maximum of 2 months before it will be released?.
They will know when it will be ready, after Beta testing and with only a few minor issues to be sorted, they know it can go to press within a month or 2. Why announce a year upwards in advance?!
As long as it doesn't go the way of Duke Nukem Forever and actually comes out, I'll be happy. Also, I think S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is set for second quarter now.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R is not really one of the best FPS i've played. Because i can't get a companion(And i know that it's stand alone game,but almost every stalker goes with a companion,isn't it?),join a group,chat with the NPCs so they will become friends,sleep,etc. But this new STALKER (Clear Sky) will SURE make me wanna-getit. And i hate the weapon's size,they look too huge to me.
And wikipedia said that this game is a survival horror...What the ****?
