does anyone know if this is a bug or this is how the game was made: when i attack an enemy, be it creature or human, more of the time when attacking it spends just looking at the creature instead of attacking it and i barely manage to attack it

i lost half of my vitality when fighting with the four ghosthounds at the begging in Vizima and those dogs were very easy to kill if the carac would've attack instead of watching them how cute they are

i barely manage go into a fight because of this bug or whatever it may be

the version of my game is v1.0...could the version have something to do with this

dude...it's how the game was made...switch the combat style to fast in order to hit them...by default, it's set on strong...all through the game you'll have to manage your fighting styles or you won't be able to do anything...if a monster is big and bulky, they sure as hell won't be fast so use the strong style...if it's a small monster...or a fast one, like the drowners, use the fast style...hope you'll be satisfied with the answer

It takes a while to get use to the combat system. At least it took a while for me to understand since i am too use to traditional RPG combat style. You have to switch the combat style to fight different type of enemy.

You also only hit mouse once to allow your character finish the combat until you see the combo reminder show out.

good...then it means that that's the way the game was made cos i was wondering...i just clicked like an idiot on a target and it just went in front of target and admired it too see how cute it is when i found that i only have to click to pass on to the next wave of attack but it's somewhat annoying cos in higher levels the combos take longer to finish and i accidentally release the click too fast and the he stops from attacking

Watch the attack cursor. As soon as it turns flaming push the button again. This will set up your combos. If you hit it too soon or too late, you start the maneuver over.

The thing is that there's really a bug sometimes with fighting. As you can see I'm from Russia and using the localized version (patch 1.2), so nearly everyone having The Witcher, had the same problem with Geralt no attacking sometimes. Fix: reload or patch 1.2.

I've had this problem also, at one point, my framerate dropped to almost nothing, I was being attacked but could do next to nothing (luckly I was running the cheat trainer so I didn't die) I've also noticed a big problem when a lot of enemies are attacking you
