I see people talking about re-using a character to re-play through the game. Do you have to beat it to do that, or could i take my lvl 20 character and restart with him?

You need to beat the game once to use a higher level character to restart a new game.

I plan on renting this again and beating it with one of the other endings...had lots of fun with this game

that's what i figured, thanks for confirming godslaw.

Once you've beat the game with a character start a new game and select "Enter Existing ID". You'll start the game with the character exactly where you finished with it (same XP/level, loot, money, omni-gel). There's also a bug where everything that you have equipped on your character is duplicated, which can come in handy to get an extra set of the elusive Colossus armour.

i guess i don't have the bug then, cuz it didn't happen to me...

I got the dupe probably a few couple of times when I went to use a previous character I completed the game. But I think in this case its to the player's benefit so...

It doesn't happen 2 me either
