    Hmm, funny, I run the game perfectly fine on 1024x768, medium settings on most options (except post processing and shaders) with my "crappy" system;

    MB: Abit KN8-Ultra
    CPU: AMD A64 3700+ (San Diego, that's a single core)
    GFX: Gainward GeForce 7800GT
    Mem: 4x512mb DDR PC3200

    flows just perfectly (haven't run a benchmark yet, I hate those things anyway so, but it flows really well - except in Vista, where it lags to heck (has something to do with the sound engine))

    Your performance also depends on what resolution you are setting your screen on. If you have a 20 inch widescreen like me, and running at 1600x1200 resolution, then your performance is going to be less impressive than running it on
    1024x768.
