This is a very good game, If you can buy it I suggest you do, it's far better then all the recent RTS except maybe SC:FA

Yea, you can't zoom out at all in this game really, that was a disappointment,

I had high expectations of this game because the team that made this have made couple good titles in past but to my disapointment the game did not offer anything new or interesting to the genre.
The gameplay is sticky at best of the times and limiting the number of troops you have atleast for me was nuisance to enjoy the game. Also i found the way you did build new units somehow limited all the time i tried to build more units than i was able to fit on queue.
Also i found bugs that were more or less annoying like when you command your units to move to spot x and if those units are small like novus basic infantry they try to occupy the same spot and just keep walking around and around of the spot ignoring everything else.
also the zoom level is way too close it is hard to make sense what is going on on the battlefield when you cannot see enough of what is happening. (same problem was present in empire earth III)
To conclusion is it worth the time and effort to buy this game? I have to answer No. If you really want great rts game i would invest my money on Supreme Commander: Forged alliance or Medieval 2 Total war

The game is alright. In all fairness, I think those high expectations really knock a game off the fun charts because we expect so much. If you compare the game to the vast majority of sci fi RTS or most RTS in general, this is definitely an above-average game (I'd give it about a 7.5). So, should you get it? Well, that depends on how much money you have and what you want? If you've played all the other RTS out there and want another solid one, sure go for it. If not, Companies of Heroes, Supcom, and others are better worth your money.

An extremely well put together game, with just a few minor flaws (such as the zoom thing). Even if it doesn't add a lot it really does what it should do, and it does it well. It owns SC and FA quite a lot (because of their veeery bad optimization), and feels more action-packed than those two. The only RTS I feel is currently better would probably be CoH and OF. (Except for the WH40k: DoW games and the Homeworld series, but their time is over ^^)
