Well, I've messed up by buying some bad cars. I love the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 but it is horrible in Grip races, at least it was for me. The Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X is an awesome car for Grip. I've also heard that the Supra is the best drag car but I personally believe that drag is for muscle cars, of which the Shelby Mustang GT500 is really good. I've also heard that the Chevrolet Chevelle is a good car for wheelies. i don't really know about drift but the Mazda RX-7 seems to be popular since the drift king uses one. People seem to be using a huge range of cars for the speed challenges, I have no clue which ones the best. Anyone else know cars that are good for certain types of races?

I don't want a big car, particularly. I have no need for acreage, and I don't like the fuel bills. But I don't want a small one because they're all like supermarket own-brand cola: weedy imitations of the real thing - Jeremy Clarkson

I'm about a quarter the way through, and my favourite cars are the ones I've got.

    Grip - Mazda RX-8
    Drag - Chevy Chevelle SS
    Drift - BMW M3 E46
Speed - (none yet... will decide soon)

Not only are they my fav, but they are tuned up quite good so I end up smoking the competition by a mile. Drift-wise, I'm pretty darn neat, by I am nowhere near to becoming a Drift King in this game. But I will be one VERY soon.

Well, I'll tell you my cars and opinions.

Grip: Nissan Skyline GT-R [R34] & Mitsubishi Lancer Evo (Won from Ryo the Showdown King)

Drift: Currently using the Mazda RX-7 (Won from the Drift King)

Drag: Chevelle SS is the best wheelie car. I use a PAGANI ZONDA F (1,062 HP ftw) as I can do about 6.79 time in the 1/4 mile drag and 11.56 in the 1/2 mile drag. I also have the '06 Mustang I won from the Drag King.

Speed: I use a Toyota Supra because it's extremely good at gaining its top speed and very easy to control.

You are right, the Skyline is horrible and the EVO is excellent. If you can't afford the PAGANI ZONDA F yet, I suggest a muscle car. If you're still not able to afford that, get a Nissan 240SX. That was my first Drag car and it was awesome, but then when I started racing cars with 600+ HP bought a Chevelle SS. But then again these are only my opinons.

I actually bought the Chevy Chevelle for drag racing but whenever I try to race, it doesn't launch. It just sits there revving really slowly, I don't know whats wrong. Anyone experience something like that?

    drgndodge,
How is the AE86 for drifting? I'm considering it since it is apparently a really good drifter in real life.

AE86 is a great drift car, only if you have the cash to fully soup it up. Anything less than maxxed out then it sucks. It's main problem is power - only 112hp when stock. Max out the power, and just fine-tune the control a little. Aero isn't really imprtant, but it's an added bonus when the body kit's on.

For dragsters, you can have all the power in the world, but it's no use if you can't get the power to the road. Therefore your traction must be upgraded (your middle bar) to at least Level 3 before trying any sort of drag-ging. This can be done by upgrading your suspension, your brakes and also your tyres. Also Autosculpting your body kits can improve downforce, which helps your traction a lot.

    Hope that helped mate.

Well, unfortunately I can't try any of that stuff until the weekend since I'm at university and my 360 is at home. I will definitely try to find out what is wrong with my Chevelle, I might just start the game over again and get the Shelby GT500 instead.

the Chevelle, if based off the real one, wont be so good at drag. I use a 69 Charger for drag, 7.5 seconds in 1/4 mile , and had 1 for Grip until it gained too many horses, now it makes a sweet drifter. Also I heard that the 1968 Plymouth Road Runner is on here but i cant find it and i so want to get my grubby little paws on it
