I hope the expansion includes a new improved version of NODs Avatar Mech unit, one that will be able to defend itself against air-borne threats. Who spends all that money designing a heavy walking weapons platform without giving it any anti-air defenses. Balance, I know that's the reason but it doesn't cut it. If you played any of the Mech Warrior games over the years each mech was able to attack choppers and other air targets.

On the plus side for GDI I'm happy they are addressing the Juggernauts glaring weakness lacking a close-up attack by providing a garrisonable bunker upgrade.

Does anyone know if the expansion will be a stand-alone, my friend lost his original game disk and he doesn't want to buy it again if the expansion doesn't require it.

I think it's a stand-alone expansion.I'm not sure.

The rumor mill has it that it will be an expansion disk that requires the original game. Thats what I heard.

Yeah, according my info, this is what entails, and probably the reason for all the confusion:

The X-Box 360 version will be stand-alone, not requiring the original game to play.

Currently, the PC version will require the original game installed in order to play the expansion. So far, it doesn't look like it'll follow the same stand-alone scheme as WH 40,000.

Maybe it'll be like CoH: Opposing Fronts. It is an expansion but it doesn't need CoH to install it.
