I don't know how the system works, my persian got chosen but my raichu didn't, I actually achieved that about half a yr ago, I'm same as you, it gets boring after a while, I'm more dedicated to my computer now.
I suppose if i want to be really good at this game i'll have to conquer that part of it... too bad its so boring I prefer contests of strength and cunning, such as battles
