and wished you installed the 32-bit version because you want to use the trainer. There are 2 things you should be able to do:
1. Go install the 32 bit version, it's called "HGL _x86" on the DVD
2. And this is probably easier, open your Hellgate London DVD and copy the "SP _x86" (single player 32 bit) and/or "MP _x86"(multi player 32 bit) folder from your Hellgate DVD to the same directory where you installed the game. Put the folders in the same directory where you see the "MP _x64" and "SP _x64" folders. After you do this you can simply launch the exe in the _x86 folders and it should work.
i gave this a shot before i read this, hoping it would work. it seems, well, incredibly bad performance for me. but i've not really played on 64bit mode, with vista ultimate 64, installed default 64 bit version, then just copying the folder over. i seem to only be using 1 or 4 cores on the cpu(alt-tabbing out and seeing only one core loaded for previous amount of time). it could be as its not "installed" as 32bit, and maybe it changes the tag's it uses on the .exe to load if it detects more than one core on startup. the process has affinity set to all cores though.
either way, its weird, first try it worked fine, i added a bunch of skill points which is really the only thing i wanted. but only added 15 or so, then when used up the next time i tried to add skill points it simply would not add anymore, even reloading game, activating, waiting for level up for there to be a single point, then trying, just uses the point you get from leveling.
main reason is the power descriptions are absolutely terrible. completely wrong or lacking in information. some info doesn't come up until you have the power. for instance summoner's, it doesn't mention you can't have both the default tank guy and the health guy at the same time, it also doesn't mention (or didn't in beta) that meatshield gives him health regen.
basically want to mess with skill points to test out the powers quickly so i can go online and not waste months on a character only to find the powers are useless. i took the health guy, whose fairly useless, and a phase elemental, who is also next to useless.
cool thanks! for some reason i can get it to work now(1st install didnt work for some reason, so i reinstalled and tried your trick). kudos!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- no... it's NOT meant to work online in games(don't get yourself banned from the maker and waste your money) ;)
Also please DON'T ask me to email you a copy of a trainer. thanks!(your message will be ignored)
I did notice a huge performace drop using the 32 bit executable on a 64 bit install, but you shoudn't have to deal with it since as soon as you get the trainer working you can just train up your characters, save and then use the 64 bit executables for playing.
If you get a DirectX 10 error on vista chances are your video card does not support the DirectX 10 API, try the DirectX 9 executable.
Id normally agree with you on that one but the 64bit version runs fine on the dx10 exe lol its just the 86 version says it cant run on my directx version.
just wanted to say "kudos" for the fix worked fine after re-install.
*hint for xp64bit users who want to cheat* (you'll be able to use x86 version cheats w/this version)

I tried it and yes it works. But if anybody is going to do this do at the beginning of the game before you do any updates. I have two different characters and after I did this I only had one. So what this is telling me is that when you install the file it is taking you back to square one with no updates.
