Hi guys, you can find the Item Find Rate in the file "MergedCompetences.xmd".
Almost ALL modifiers are integrated from all the sources under Loki to this file.
Use xmd2xml to decode the file. Make absolutely sure you make a back up before you modify anything there cos it affects the whole game. Also, for changes to take effect, you need to use xmd2xml to "encode" the modified xml to xmd.
You can search for the keyword "SpawnProba" and modify values from there. Mind you, incorrect values will render unpredictable effects.
For your info, I've got all the Orange, Green and Red items and stored them in "Loki Chest" for future use. Sorry, as a new comer, I don't know how to attach my saved "Chest.xmd" file for your use. Hope this gives you some hint on modifying item find rate.
Cheers. Felix

OK, here goes some info for you:
Find from the Loki folder, such as:
C:\Games\Loki\Data\Competences
decode the file "MergedCompetences.xmd" to an XML file, edit it using Notepad. Search for "SpawnProba".
The upper part is the probability, each category is added up equal to 1 (don't make it higher than 1: Commun =0.8+0.1+0.1+0+0+0+0+0+0). -------- SubCompetence Name="Monster_NumDropsChance"Commun N0="0.8" N1="0.1" N2="0.1" N3="0.0" N4="0.0" N5="0.0" N6="0.0" N7="0.0" N8="0.0" N9="0.0" --------
For the lower part is the "chance" of finding each category "Divine, Mystique, Heroic, etc". Higher the better chance (but don't go too far, I used 100 as max for each category of item) I've modified mine as below:
Something like this (I have removed the <> signs due to the post cannot include them), hope this helps. Felix

kind of new to this could you explain a couple things to me
The upper part is the probability, each category is added up equal to 1 (don't make it higher than 1: Commun =0.8+0.1+0.1+0+0+0+0+0+0). so do you mean that the total of this should = 1 also is the for the commun monster type if so on yours you have a higher total than 1 sorry but kind of confused
and on this do i need to do the same for each type of monster
now where do i edit p span class='text11'[Edited by jonnie321, 11/11/2007 1:21:06 AM]/span

Every time I run the command in CP the loki.xmd.exe tells me: "Can't open input file"... I don't know why this is...Unfortunately I am using the Steam version, so it's stuck at 1.083 though, I should still be able to edit the files...

You probably forgot one or both of two things: 1. put a copy of loki.xmd.exe in your Loki\Data\Competences folder, or wherever you put the MergedCompetences file that you're trying to work with. A COPY not a SHORTCUT. 2. change directory BEFORE trying to decrypt it. "CD\enter" as in the key enter, don't type enter, to get back to the root directory. Then type CD C:\Games\Loki\Data\Competences (assuming you put Loki in C:\Games...if not put in the proper directory where your game is).
Then try it again and it should work. If not, check your spelling of the filename and make sure it matches what's in the game's Data\Competences folder.
If it still doesn't work, you're probably using Windows Vista, which is retarded and won't let you edit ANYTHING in the C:\Program Files directory. So, you'll have to uninstall all your games and reinstall them into a different folder, like C:\Games because Windows Vista thinks everybody is too stupid to think for themselves and doesn't like it when users mess with the Program Files folder. As long as you don't want to make or edit any savegames or edit any other files, or if you're NOT using Vista, the Program Files folder is a fine place to put stuff.
Hope it helps. --HD--
You either dig it, or you don't.
