Definitely the 360, while I wouldn't count the PS3 out completely right now, it doesn't have the strongest backing from the developing community, nor does it have the selection of great games like the 360 does. Of course, any time you ask a question like this your going to get a few fanboy responses from both sides. While I would consider a bit of an xbox fanboy, I believe my view is completely without bias, and I believe that you'll get roughly a 85/15 ratio of answers in the 360's favor from my experience on the boards.

It depends on the type of games you want, ie if you want NIS games go for the PS3, if you want Halo3+ go for the 360, if you want Smash Brothers Brawl go for the Wii.

The 360 for sure currently the PS3 has nothing backing it up other then a 5 hour action game....And in 8 days....the...360...has...HALO 3! However take into account as insomniac said i am an extreme fanboy. Though that dose not mean i am wrong.

360 was out 1 year longer if I recall correctly
I'm not a fan boy for either so you can trust my opinion, I would personally go with the PS3. The PS3 has a lot of promise coming in the future, its all these 360 fan-boys going on and on, that's bringing it down.
