It has been decided that this competition will continue as however planned. It should be noted Yoshi that instead of just quitting and leaving a good-bye note, you should have left something like "I don't want someone to continue it" or "if you want to keep it going you should talk to me" in your original good-bye notice. Otherwise there is nothing we can do except for banning all CHU competitions which is a harsh step but it will solve our problems with the TOS violations that have been coming up between you and Bes and right now, that's all I care about now.
However you two decide to resolve this I don't care, but keep it off the boards and keep it civil or this is going to be shut down for good. This means you too Bes, no gloating how you have control of this competition because it's just a **** move to do (and if you decide to go against this, I will revoke your control and run this myself).
This competition will resume now.

Understood. I am sorry for what happened. Thanks for handling the situation Neo and I am sorry for what I said.
But why? Why must I keep it off public view?
We don't want a big drama-fest going on. The last time someone argued like this in public, it didn't end so well. (Link)
For serious though, I'd be flattered if someone decided to continue my competition after I was gone. That means that someone respected my idea and hard work on the topic enough to imitate it, and you know what they say about imitation-- it's the sincerest form of flattery. That being said, I don't know how this whole thing went down behind the scenes so I'm not about to judge anyone's reactions on this whole thing. Just keep it civil, guys.

But why? Why must I keep it off public view? If my topic was viewable to the public, although it would likely be the majority in favor of you, I'm sure there would be at least one other person who would support my side and would give support in areas I either didn't cover or didn't execute up to par in this situation.
Right now, it looks like me against the moderators and bes. I'm already starting on uneven ground, especially since I don't ever know if a few moderators supported me, if all moderators were against me, I have no idea what you guys were discussing, and my topic is now on your board. Nobody else can view what I had to say BUT you and only you.
Even against bes ALONE, you aren't giving me a fair starting ground. No matter how much I debate, no matter what "advantages" I have in this situation, all bes has to say is "no" and there's nothing I can do about it. You can't just do that. It has to be a fair start for both of us.
And remove all CHU competitions? No. Quizzes don't have to be removed. The idea of a quiz existed before the person created the quiz. In theory, if the person who coined, defined, and in essence, created the quiz, then yes, he could deem it unacceptable, all quizzes could be removed from the internet, and the internet would be destroyed. The same thing can be done for everything. In fact, God can deem the creation of life unacceptable, and killer bees and Dollies can be removed from the face of the earth. But that's a very very large scale thing to do, as is removing all competitions from CHU. Why would anyone do that? You are correct. This isn't on that scale. This is the idea within a competition. MY idea of a competition. I've stated that I didn't want this to be done, as it was my idea, and thus it shouldn't be allowed to continue. Would I mind if he went on another board and continued the CHUUL under the title "CHUUL #2"? No. As stated before, As long as he recognized his idea as a spawn of mine, I have no problem with that. He's taking an idea from an idea, but as his own original idea. That's acceptable. But to take my idea, and my own topic, and spawn the CHUUL back from my original topics is unacceptable. And you claiming that he has the right to take my idea, tweek it without my permission, and continue it with an advantage over me in the situation over my competition is not fair.
Same thing with the Rock Band vs Guitar Hero rivalry. Rock Band created Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero needed to compete. So rather than sticking with their original Guitar Hero, they took the idea of the band and created Guitar Hero World Tour. They didn't just take slap a Rock Band sticker on their name and claim it to be "Rock Band 3." The concept is here. You can't just slap the CHUUL sticker on a completely different idea and claim them it to be the CHUUL. This isn't the CHUUL. The CHUUL had a different set of rules and regulations.
What should be done here is to have my topic with all the points I had to make put back on the public board, and have people DISCUSS, not ARGUE, for either side, with a warning about flaming in the topic. Though the vast majority will probably be against me (lol e-rep these days), I'd like to see if there's anyone who could help me on my side, rather than having me alone against a bunch of other minds. You don't see people in court shove a guy into a chair and have everyone with like-minds within the the court and within the jury debate against him and sentence him like that. If everyone justifies themselves, and it is decided that way, although the CHUUL's name will have been defaced, and I very dissatisfied, that's a much better way to go out than just to have everyone say "after 'much' thought, we've decided that you're not right, he is, talk about it somewhere else, that's it."
The basics points I want addressed.
- Does bes have the right to do this?
- If he does, should it have been done under a different name on a different board?
- If it isn't, why isn't it?
We're not concerned with fairness. We are concerned with keeping order on these message boards. This wasn't a copyrighted idea nor was it something staff came up with. As harsh as it seems, you are fighting a losing battle. It's the same thing as company A going ape **** because company B is broadcasting the same product but with different ingredients. There is nothing we can do about that. Next time make it more clear in your farewell message.
This discussion is over. Any further will result in moderation.
