The final day of the league's top division, and four members were still in contention for the top spot. The league's top member essentially needed a win of any kind to guarantee himself the top seed, and on Day 15, he notched a solid victory over forty-two, gaining 5 points in the process. The second ranked member, Chingy42007 needed a win against the streaking insomniac to notch the second seed in the CHUUL cup, the match was close all the way through, and it eventually came down to the final vote, as a 8-7 score notched chingy the second seed in the cup. Bojack completed the wrong kind of perfect season with a loss against Ho-Oh, but in division one, each and every win is tough. EternalSlayer and King-of-Games finished out solid middle-of-the pack seasons with 14 point victories over Pwizard and Drugmunky respectively. Another 14-point winner, darkish_raven, notched the third overall seed with a win over Jackal. Ghost42 snuck into the cup for the second straight year with a 8 vote win over vonfuzzball. Latios_Power edged out dstates in a close 11-9 match, but still remains a single place behind dstates in the overall rankings.
Division 3, Day 15 Results
Pisces seperated himself from the rest of the division three competitiors two weeks ago, and carried a seven point lead into the final day of voting. He dominated his opponent, winning by 12 points, and gained the top D3 spot in the process. Lamile was right on his heels with a 14-1 rout of Blink-182, but her impressive victory wasn't enough to knock pisces out of the top spot. Expectedly, yosup took the third spot with his win, and drpepperfanatic and malyg followed him up in the final standings with their respective wins. FFQueen, berserker and airhead were also winners on D3's final day.
Division 5, Day 15 Results
The story of the day were the blowout matches near the top of the standings. Fault2k, David747 and Whit3ghost, all making late-season pushes, won on the final day by at least 14 points each. Raphaelle managed to pull an upset over everything PC as well, in a 12 to 6 match. thealchemist put up a big 15 point score today as well, and thereby completing Game_Keeper's winless season. There were three closer matches on day 15, diddykong winning by 2 points, and GTAaddict and unbreakable both winning by a single vote.
In the most stacked division, there was no undefeated user. Even last season's winner slipped to fifth this year. In the end, it all came down to points and the final 4 matches of the season, as Ryan was able to snatch the division title away by seven points by beating two of the top three rated members in the final 4 matches. If we learned anything from the Division one matches this season, it's that anyone can beat anyone else at any one time. It should be interesting to see how the cup matches between the D1 members play out.
Division 3, Final Results
Division three was the tale of three users. Yosup, Lamile and Pisces all stood atop the division with a single loss with 5 matches to go. All three records and scores were tied between the big three at one point. In the final two days of the season, however, the three began to break apart. Yosup lost his second match to lamile, but because the match was so close, lamile fell behind pisces inthe points race. This match proved to be the deciding factor in Division 3, as pisces ended up winning by six points over lamile, with yosup finishing in third.
Division 5, Final Results
Division five was by far the most lopsided division for the majority of the season, as fault2k refused to lose a single match, and collective massive numbers of points in the process. However, when the CHUUL started back up after the break, a few challengers appeared. David747 and Whit3ghost made a series of late-season pushes, while fault stated to struggle. He lost his first match, but in the final two matches, fault restored order and took the D5 crown away from Whit3 and david.
Latiosmaster thus concludes his undefeated streak in this exciting final day of Season 2! His win over Vegetta means he stays in top spot to claikm first place in division 2, and ensuring his ticket into the all-glorified Division 1. Joining him will be his arch-rival of division 2, raha, who pulled off a relatively easy upset of Chichay today, and Al_pucino, who has remained consistent all season and suffering only a pinch of setbacks this season. One can expect great success from these three in Season 3 - don't be surprised if at least one of the three is in the top three next season. On the other end of the spectrum, division 2 bids adieu to Sophie_angel, j0ediIStheWAY and Chichay, which is a little tragic - Sophie suffers her second consecutive demotion in the inaugral two seasons of the CHUUL! pisces, lamile and yosup fill their gaps, and we can expect them to do some damage to the middle order of division 2 next season.
Division IV
Night-Ghost wraps us Division 4 with a final 10-6 win over baseballnut, much like the rest of the division 4. All matches save three ended in a 10-6 win/defeat, with the exception being combines wiping Pheephee on the floor with her simply colossal 16-0 win; gamerpro and pokemonlegend beating tasser and elimon respectively by the same 11-5 margin. This final, rather monotonous day in Division 4 sees Night-Ghost, baseballnut and combines moving up into Division 3, which makes it a warm welcome back for baseballnut and combines, and a second consecutive promotion for Night-Ghost! Divsion 5 says a warm welcome to Vader007, Pheephee and Tasser, whilst the same division sends over fault2k, Whit3Ghost and david747. Don't expect them to threaten the leaders straightaway, but they'll do some damage in the middle-to-top order of Division 4 next season.
Division VI
The two bitter rivals fought hard today, but the end result wasn't the shocker we were expecting. Since both Itachi and Cheatmaster finished with a 16-4 win, the previous margin between them remained unchanged, and thus Itachi finished on first, with Cheatmaster coming a bitter second. ExesAndOhz filled in the promotion gap of third, finishing strongly by defeating Angus_Young_Jr by a good 14-6 margin. In other news, LoopDaLoop nearly blew out danju by a massive 18-1 margin - a good finish to consolidate a very strong fifth place, just threatening XTremeCheater in fourth, who in turn cruised comfortably past joshuaputra today by a good 13-6 margin. The two have battled long and hard, will it be enough to have themselves promoted into Division 5? Personally, i reckon they have the potential to do some serious damage to the middle order in Division 5 next season, maybe even the leaders. But that's for Ryan- to decide, I'm just giving some food for thought here.
Division 6 and the CHUUL says goodbye to sneekz1, jtgamer2 and Jessyjane32, and awaits Unbreakable, The Chaoman and Game Keeper, plus the three new recruits to the division to fill in the lower end of the spectrum which was removed from the CHUUL entirely. The unpredictable division has been through ups and downs, close shaves and complete annihilations. Will they keep up their rep next season? We'll find out sooner or later.
Until season 3, this is CHUUL Analyst Chingy42007 signing out.
