Cal tested it on the FAIRLIGHT release and the trainer worked fine. We're going to have to get some more info before we can do anything. There must be some weird combination of original game version + fairlight expansion that might be causing the trainer to fail (like D2D original + fairlight, etc), and of course we cannot program for every possible combination. I know I've read that if you have the digital download version of original you can't buy the boxed copy, etc. Must be something like that.

For anyone using the fairlight release and it is EITHER WORKING OR NOT WORKING, please post your information and maybe we can come up with a common denominator.

Otherwise, buy the game folks! We did!

Just for fun, grabbed the Fairlight release.

    Retail MTW2 + Retail Exp = Working
    Retail MTW2 + Fairlight Exp = Working

I was thinking there may be a problem with how it patches. For example, if you snag the update yourself rather than updating from the expansion disk. Just a theory though.
OMFG!!!!! TRAINER HAS BEEN UPDATED!!!! HOLY ****!!!!! NO WAY!!!!!

thank you apollo for doing that. i thought i was going crazy because i got no problems either. well that makes two of us that the trainer worked perfectly for on either retail or released versions.

i am still looking into this but if i cannot get any errors or crashes and the trainer works here i may not be able to tell you why you are having problems.

are you playing it on vista? can you tell us more info?

i hate to say this, but you may have to uninstall the game and any expansions or addons completely, and then install the original game (or released version) making sure NOT to overwrite anything (do NOT use the cracked .exe's or .dlls) and then install the expansion and let it update through the expansion. likely if you overwrote the .exe when you first installed the original game, then the update may not have updated your game version, possibly.

at any rate, we are still looking at this but a complete install from scratch may be in order.

    my versions:

    medieval2.exe 1.3.0.0
    kingdoms.exe 1.3.0.0

    thanks

    Cal

Okey my situation: Fresh install by reloaded version (not applaying any "fixes", then installed the addon by procyron, who patches the game first to 1.2 then to 1.3 , and then installs the addon. Then I have to apply the fixed exe from Fairlight because Yasu doesn't want to work.

With this combo, on Win XP SP2 I can't get the trainer to work.
Now if the person who does get the trainer to work with a fixed install would post his/her solution, I would be happy.

Definitely starting to see a trend of using both pirated versions together potentially causing a problem as people that have a full retail or retail + pirate combo appear to be working fine. Must be something weird with the original reloaded version and the way it interacts with the expansion. We'll continue to gather info and see if anything can be done.
