i have windows vista, and i have an nvidia gforce 7950 graphics card, updated and everything. does that mean that im running dx 10 graphics so that i can play this game to its full potential? plus, if i have dial-up, can i still play the game? 🤔

You need a DX10 gfx card to play it at full potential.

I don't think dial-up will hinder you much as this is primarly a singelplayer game.

I believe that the only DX10 cards are the Nvidia 8000 series ones. Ati doesn't have one yet and the other Nvidia aren't DX10.

ATI does have DX10 cards, the Radeon HD Series. But otherwise you are correct, the Nvidia 7950 isn't a DX10 card, the 8000+ Series are.

Master_Zephyr is correct. nVidia 8000 series and the ATI 2xxx series are the only current DX10 cards available. I believe Vista only utilises DX10 when a compliant graphics card in installed, otherwise it goes back to DX9 but I could be wrong, as I've only just upgraded and I'm still finding my way around Vista.

That's not at all what your link says.

How do you people call yourselves computer gamers when you don't even understand basic hardware/software stuff like this?

You have to have a DX10 card to get DX10 graphics. Just like DX9, 8, 7, 6.. before it.

Your link says that Microsoft is releasing DX10.1 which will need DX10.1 cards to take full advantage of the added stuff. DX10 cards will run DX10, 9 will run 9, and so on.

Seriously, there's no excuse to not know the basics about computers. Beyond MySpace, I mean.

Reminds me of all the posts I see on torrent sites "How do I download this?" "All I download is a bin and a cue, but there's no exe, how do I install?"

Learn Things. Seriously. Google and Wikipedia are your friends.

Wow I just got my custom built new Quad Core Q6600 SLI PC with a GTX 8800, 4 GB DDR2 RAM just in time to play this awesome game. I got the system with XP installed but I also got a Vista DVD. I'm going to compare the game first running under DX 9 and then see how much better it looks with DX 10.
