In the game, press start, and enter the cheats. When you hit the buttons, make sure its a steady rythmn. Should work.

and some cheats say u must hold r2 and l2 but u dont have to

Also the cheats only work when typed in on the d-pad.

dont enter them too fast or you will hit the button like one time too many without doing it.
