That would be good but the point of it is that it makes it look realistic. For example great hit games like Gears of War or Halo 3, or Oblivian. They dont show health on there enemies much and thats why they're great, to make it feel as if your in the game. But one thing they all have and MHF2 needs is some sort of pause.

for me the no health thing is cool because you need to think more like a hunter if you dont get then this is why when you fight the monster and see a health bar you dont have to think if its close you know but no health bar means you need to look and see if its getting weak, limping, broken parts etc.

i was just talking about a health bar for fatalis coz when i was first fighting him i hated not being able to tell whether i had actually hurt it or not

Ya true. Since Fatalis doesnt show much pain it would be good to have a health bar on the main boss.
