Does patch 3220 and onwards require a disc?

I scratched my collector's edition DVD a coupla months ago, and although I contacted my local distributor, they don't have replacements. I'm not gonna pay another S$70 for another game, so I borrowed a friend's DVD to install it.
I don't have to run it with the DVD in the drive, or while installing patches. No No-DVD fix/.exe needed too. No images needed as well.

No. After you patch past 3220, you don't need the disc anymore. I updated to 3260 and it's running great.
