I hate to drop anything - must be that idiom I grew up with "waste not want not!" - I know that charms etc can be added to in the same slot - can this be done with other items like armour and weapons?

No armor can not be added inot the same slot, if you need room i suggest getting the vault, It lets you store as much as you want in an offline folder.

no you dont have to that, you can just make another character (name him like storer, or mule or something) give him 10,000 gold and then just give all of the stuff you want him to store. you can do this because you can have unlimited characters.

or you can google titan quest vault, download it and install it and you will have unlimited space to store stuff.
