I was thinking of possible ways for minion creation without having to deal with instancing each new minion (which if you can pull off would be a fairly amazing feat).

I've noticed as you progress in the game, the monsters you kill drop more and more minion "souls" or orbs or whatever they are called. Maybe the easiest solution is to figure out how this is stored in memory and then change that. I'm assuming the orbs probably are probably aren't as complicated.

Possible options would be to require a shift-target a monster and then press a hotkey which would make that monster drop 100 of each type of orbs when killed or maybe if possible just increase the orb drops or worth to be five times normal.

minion creation will be hard because it requires a instance of the minion class to be create for each. What you need to find is a data-based trigger to run the constructors. Without knowing the layout of the code, this is difficult to reverse engineer.

You'd need to look at what is triggered when a life glob is captured and how you can safely artificially recreate that.
A more sensible option would be to edit the mob data, such as the big bugs.

The options for this;
->edit the scripting resource file. Custom format would require a lot of hunting.
->patch data in memory but most likely different for each (instance of) big bug and possibly each map. There will be a template of the big bug class somewhere carrying the default values for each bug.
->The last option is to edit the savegame directly. This is perhaps the easiest. OR as the savegame is loaded into memory which would be the most cunning


a lot of that waffle is probably well out but my 2 cents

Good news, once I test it myself.

If it works, ill send Caliber the details and he will have infinite health and mana (instead of the add options)

EDIT: Works fine and sent the details. Im now working on 1 hit kill its not 100% yet. But ill figure a way

EDIT 2: No need he already has the 1-hit kill lol. Maybe ill do Infinite Minions for the smelters.

DABhand: Tell me if you find a solution. When I tried ( and changed minion count ), the game crashes everytime more minions than I originally had is added to the smelter. Think I missed a location

I think it may keep a record of each of the minions, because they do pick up and use items in the game, so it may not be as simple as a single counter

Its easy enough to throw out as much as you want, but the problem is finding the op-code that removes them when they jump in the smelters. Without both of these op-codes removed, you will lose minions no matter what.

Had to chuckle at Allens (ASX) trainer for his cheating the forge. It just doesnt work lol. He didnt think ahead like I did and also remove the op-code that removes minions.
