Halo 2 Message Board  

To update my previous troubles... When you sign into Live it automatically downloads the update. Which I didn't figure out until I went to halo2.com to download the update after the updated trainer came out. That's why the first one wouldn't work.
Now as for why the updated trainer doesn't work...

I hit F7, it says activated, no purple shield... I hit F8, DEP shuts down halo2. I attempted to deactivate DEP for halo2.exe, however wonderful windows gives me a fantastic message stating that you can't turn off DEP for halo2.exe and that the program is required to run with DEP on. Oh those silly microsoft punks.

Am I just unlucky and I've hit F8 during one of those random cheat checks lets see now, 12 times in a row? Or is this just another example of my computer sucking?

I appreciate your timely and helpful remarks to my previous issues and would be eternally grateful for any help with the new one.

Edit: No, I'm not running in compatibility mode, nor as administrator. I am the sole user of this computer and am the administrator.

My Halo PC Vista version: (I right click file and choose properties) file version 1.0.0.11091 with product version 1.00.00.11091.

However, I just found out my version is 1.0.3.139 on the "About" menu in Halo 2 Vista. That said, is this considered version 1.0?

What happens to me when I use halo2trn.exe is that I die to the desktop trying to use F7 and F8.

The other file, halo2trn-u1.exe.exe, nothing happens?

We're looking into the issues and trying to determine how to get to the exact version that those people having problems are. Microsoft released several small updates for the game and then Update #1. Give our programmer some time to dig into it more and we'll see what we can do.

Training for Vista is difficult (you'll notice that no one else has even attempted it) and all the different variants are making it even more difficult (on top of the anti-cheat protection and DEP that Microsoft added to the game).

My game just crashes anyway, regardless of what i do. lol
