Well, I rebooted and ran through several more check points periodically banging away on the f7/f8 keys and I haven't crashed yet but I'll try a longer run tomorrow.

I have a feeling that MS will try and have developers use DEP to "secure" their games as well so people may very well have to disable DEP to run trainers. I haven't bought Shadowrun yet, I'm curious as to how it handles being "trained" as well. Maybe with future releases for Halo 2 trainers, maybe publish one with the limited options and inform folks that (if this whole mess works for sure) the only way to use a second, full-featured trainer is to disable DEP.

Well, I disabled DEP and tried our other options from the original trainer and I still got the random crashes so whatever they're doing, they're probably just using DEP so that nothing bad happens to the system when the crashes occur.

It was a good thought though


BTW -- Shadowrun is a multiplayer only game so we won't be attempting any options for that one.

We're going to keep plugging away at Halo 2 and see if we can come up with anything further on their anti-cheat mechanism.

Shadowrun is mp only? Ugh. Glad I didn't buy it.

How are people using this if it's not released yet?

Excellent, if my armor system resets to regular armor, how do I re-activate it? Do I have to quit the game then restart it?

Just hit F7 again and it should reactivate. You shouldn't have to close the game and restart.

hi, i have tried the 2nd version of the Halo 2 trainer, and i have halo 2 version 1.0.3.129, no luck, i hear the guy say activated but nothing works, tried launching trainer before and after the game, no luck. Hopefully a patch will arrive soon!
