If you can't find it in your installation it will be named ufo_et.exe.
Correct format would now be ufo_et.exe saveeditor.xscr unpack slot{n}.
Carry on as the guide indicates but replace all instances of projectx.exe with ufo_et.exe.

How in the heck to you use Projectx or ufo_et.exe to edit the save game file? Where do you run this from, and so forth a bit more info would be helpful. Thanks to anyone who can explain how to use this better so i can edit my save game.

The saves are located in \data\saves make a note of which slot has your save and then follow the instructions on here for cheats. On XP open a command prompt in your ufo installation folder and use the unpack/pack. On Vista use Shift+right mouse button and choose open command window here.

Hi. Some1 can help me with 1 thing ? I've unpacked the savegame, done all modifications that i wanted to make, but, for some reason, the pack comm does not have any effect. I give the comm as u said it should be but it does not pack back my file. If it matters, i've opened the files from the save game with notepad and now they have the icon of a notepad file. Can u tell me if i have to use other prog to open files? And also why it does not pack back my savegame? Thx a lot.

I tried pulling up the XP command prompt, went to the installation folder and typed in: ufo_et.exe saveeditor.xscr unpack slot{0}, as mine is in [slot 0].

I tried this about three times and I get an error that pops up in windows each time I did it.

The error shows up as some sort of internal error with gibberish that i can not understand.

Can anyone explain how they got their's to work? Much appreciated. 🤔

    Thank you.

Under XP I wrote a small batch file and created a shortcut to it so I wouldn't have to type the command line every time I wanted to edit a saved game. My only problem is that I can't find the file "saveeditor.xscr" anywhere in my UFO Installation directory nor can I find it on any of the program CD's.

Just where is this .xscr file located?????????
