You can get Ancient Stones from HR3-4 G-rank quests. It's easier to find them in a Gathering quests:
Swamp Zone (HR3)
Volcanic Zone (HR4)

You'll find the ones in the swamp in area 7 or 11 and the ones in the Volcano in area 8

Level is: 6* + 7*
