Downforce im not sure on, but i can help with gearing.

For tight, twisty circuits like cote d'azur, set ur gearing ratio to about 5 or 6 (its that tab on the bottom of the gear ratio screen). For long, straight tracks like the Test Course, i usually set it on 20-22, this way you still have SOME acceleration and a LOT of speed to give.

    Hope this helped

Yes. Its a good transmission upgrade. It does cap your top speed however, but you can adjust that later.

when i get my game back, i will give you full ratios for twisty-turn tracks, medium tracks and tracks with big straightaways. Also i will give you suspension, brake and some other adjustments that work wicked good.

When i give them to you then put the small track adjustments on option A, For the medium tracks like some turns and straightaways bu those adjustments on option B, for the tracks that are big with long straightaways and minimal turns put those adjustments on option C

I wouldnt say that about the top speed... but with the customizable transmission you can adjust the last two gears to make them quite long. That will restore, if not improve, the original top speed. I recommend that type of setting for courses like super speedway, test course and the Fuji Speedways. You get good low-gear acceleration and a good top speed as well.

But be warned - you have to strike a balance between top speed and acceleration. Its all good and well if you set a gear to its longest, but the acceleration of that gear would be crap. It might take ages for you to gain, say, 50mph. Similarly you set a gear to short, and you will gain speed really fast, but you gain not much speed. You barely make 50mph. So be careful.
