Well, you don't find the lasso. Tex gives one to you, but first you gotta get past the first day and then you have do barrel racing and rope a stick thing (you'll see what i mean.) and if you pass those tests he gives you a lariot(lasso)

You have to put the forks and crank it the box thing that's under one of the floorbords in front of the jail cell it'll tell you where to go next
