I don't see why infinite money would be needed. If you notice during the game you could not build a refinery if you didn't have to. Since money decreases based on amount of time spent producing said unit or building, instant build pretty much provides you with infinite money. You spend about 1 or 2 dollars on anything you produce.
regarding the trainer looking for the game in drive c:,
yes it looks for the game in the default install location. however, if you run the trainer first then manually run the game independantly, it will acquire the game automatically.
the button was for convenience- however, it seems to be inconvenient at times (!!)
best, Cal
Weird, I don't ever install games to C: (I have a separate partition just for games) but the "Run game" button worked fine for me. I put the trainer in the game directory, ran it, then clicked "Run game" and it ran the game as normal.
As a side note, before the trainer was released I had my brother try to hack the money as well and he got it to work. He said the thing he found out was that increasing the money to larger than 30000 wouldn't work, but 30000 or less would and would let you freeze it as well. I haven't confirmed that yet though. Not sure if you came across this while creating the trainer.
I figured out why the money spiked so high when using the trainer. Basically just cancel something after it's finished in the queue and it will automatically throw your money up by 1 million.

there was a glitch with the new GUI for the trainer that displayed "Game Now Running" at all times, even when the game was not running. At any rate, the new version has fixed this glitch and also remember this version has instant build, add money, add energy items. Chris will probably upload this version later today or tonight.
i will probably not update this trainer until i have a working retail copy in my hands and the game doesn't come out officially until the 23rd so maybe by then i will have updated it for the retail version- maybe with some new features-
So.. Silly question... Anyone figured out how to set the Ion Cannon/Nuke cooldown to 0 yet? I found the address that corresponds to the timer, but changing the number up or down has no effect in-game. It just restores itself to the proper time as soon as 1 second goes by
