Thanks for another great trainer Chris, too bad the game isn't as good as the trainer. I have the game, I've tried it and I hate it. The game itself certainly doesn't live up to the cut scenes and some of the other stuff I've seen in mags and on the special cd I received with the game. What were these guys using, some sort of super computers? The images are so small I can hardly see them when I zoom out to a point I can actually see what is going on. I also think the scenery is lousy and it reminds me of watching an old black and white science fiction movie. I'm sorry, if this will offend anyone who might think this game is the greatest thing since peanut butter and jelly but, not half as sorry as I am that I wasted my money on a bummer. THQ did alright when it was with Relic and produced the 40000 Dawn of War games but, I think it should have left this one alone. It can't even hold a candle to Winter Assault and Dark Crusade in the graphics or the enjoyment of game play. If anyone out there is interested in obtaining a used copy of Supreme Commander, I suggest they look up the used programs on one of the game web sellers because I hope to get at least some of my money back by reselling this one. One thing is certain I don't intend on keeping it, even if I have to throw it in the trash.

I have to agree. Very disappointing and not even close to as much fun as Company of Heroes or the Dawn of War series.

I can't help but think this is going to be another Black & White. Good reviews... doesn't sell well... then the reviewers look back after the shiny newness has worn off and realize they bought into the hype.

    Just my opinion, of course...

I disagree. I read the previews, saw pics and videos. Omg it's not dow!!It's not MEANT to be. It's meant to be an indepth stragety game where things take time and planning not just some explosive romp. Didn't have the detail of dow....really? If it had the level of detail and anims of dow every pc in the world combined wouldn't be able to play it! And besides, it IS beautiful, the cities in dow don't even look like cities just some shells and custom decals don't make it very interactive, and you're complaining supcomms maps aren't interactive......It's...just...why did you buy it if you didn't buy the hype? Did you not read previews, did you not read a review....they tell you vaguely what you are going to get and what you got was a fantastic game which you moan isn't like another......that's because supcomm is in a world of it's own and if you don't like it leave I have plenty of people who say it's the best thing since peanut butter. You may say it's not for you, but saying it's not for you because it's not similar or like coh or dow is plain silly.

Hey guy, maybe you're right. I've played the game a little more thoroughly now and, I find my biggest problem is being able to see the small characters which appear almost as sprites to me. If I could get a wider line of vision with a little larger characters such as the size of the ones in Civilizations at War for example I might be ok. The way things are now if I zero in enough to make it comfortable to my ranger of vision I can't see what is happening around me and, if I zoom out to the point that I can, the images are so reduced they appear as little more than sprites. Maybe I need something larger than a 19 inch monitor or new glasses, anyhow I like Chris Taylor and I don't want to hurt the guy's feelings so I won't say anything more about the game. Sure wish I could make my own maps though since I don't play the campaigns much and the pre ordered ones get old after awhile. Whatever, I have no idea of your age but as for me I will soon be 60 and maybe guys my age should stick with games that have larger images and screens or go back to the rocking chair and quit altogether.

Pocktio makes a good point, the whole concept to this game that makes it so badass are the features and the fact that they got the scale right. You are playing exactly what the game says... You are the Supreme Commander and as such you have to take a grander view of things. In reality you really don't have time to be looking at individual units and such, but rather you make a strategy get you troops in positions and pray that the other guy hasn’t seen your hand yet until you are ready.

I think that perhaps we need to stop comparing games to each other in terms of what they are and are not. Supreme Commander in a new step in a different direction, so let's just respect that and see where it leads us. DOW is a very awesome game, and in fact not many come close to it. But that's its own game in its own category. SC and DOW should not even be compared; there are too many things on both sides to make it a fair comparison.

Just wanted to make a second note that try not to get offended by some of the comments made here. I don’t think that anyone no matter what age you are should go back to anything. You have your preferences and your opinion and are blessed for that. I can see now why you made that comment and so be it. There are a ton of badass games out there that might fit your tastes visually and esthetically better. So just keep looking and keep letting us know what you think of some of the games we talk about.

    Peace Out!
