You can take either bike as theres locations only accessible using either of them, so you have to use them both eventually. And if i remember correctly the extended part is: From the gate head north First chance you get take a right voila, extended area i hope you'll notice that the pokemon are more older ones, like aipom (whatever its called, the little purple monkey)

omg.. i got aipom.. the lamb thingy.. sunkern.. i couldnt find a hondoum..rawr and i saw this like floating scorpion thingy.. couldnt catch it.. and this like fishy pirana thingy.. argh i really wanted the houndom.. rawr cant spell
