okay.. so i created an area to make a downtown.. the only problem is i have no idea how to build something to put down there. for example; i want to build a restaurant.. but how i do buy a "be seated" stand... or an area for the chef to make the food? and even then, don't i need to hire employees?? ahh im so confused help me out here.

and another question, how do i put up my kids for adoption?

Sorry if this news is disapointing, but you can't make a restaraunt with just the sims or sims2. You need a Business Expansion Pack to make one. I saw an ad 4 it, u can make like fast food and hospitals and pretty much everything else you could use as a business. And about your other question, u can't put kids up 4 adoption, the Social Worker needs 2 cum n take em and they only do that if u were abusing or starving them.
