You should drift out of the bonus zone until you get the hang of drifting. If you feel like you are too close to the wall and might crash into it, slam on the emergency brake and wait till it accept's your points. Once you have practiced for a while, you should be skilled enough to complete it.

hmm.... even I had trouble on my first time out. Listen.... dont try too hard too fast. ur gonna get nowhere like that. Drifting really pushes ur cars sensitivity and the default camera really screws up ur line and rhythm. First of all, change the camera to bumper (doesn't sound like advice, does it? But it helps so much). You will gain greater control over the car and you may or may not get a better perspective of the whole car - either you get it or you dont. To improve control, try "clipping" the edge of the bonus zone (the yellow shaded areas on the insides and outsides of the track) and keep it there. You should try and keep the car some distance form the wall while ur still mastering it. Later on, when ur control sharpens up, take risks and try and get as close to the wall as possible while charging in at suicidal speeds. Remember to keep ur speed up... otherwise ull get NOTHING for the drift (i.e. a 30mph drift may get you 1000 points or so). Go to quick race and practice with a tuner first... forget about the other classes as they aint the best for training.... even tho u'll learn to master them later on.

Hope this helped... if not then post back and i'll find another solution

Anotha neat trick. if your cars too close to the wall crank the steering away from it and let go of the gas thenn throttle it again. works for me. my biggest single drift was 541,784. Yours?
