Anno 1701 Message Board  

I agree with all of you who are having a hard time with 1701 AD. I haven't seen anyone give the answer as to how you bring down the console window and, am beginning to wonder if anyone knows. Usually this can be done with the tilde key or by using Ctrl+Shift+Tilde or some other combination but, not for this one. I've tried the cheat codes and these do work, off and on. The BonanzaCreek cheat code will work but like the others, only once in awhile. I even tried Game Cheater 1.2 which worked on the last Anno game and works most of the time with all games but, even it wouldn't work with 1701. The one good thing I have found is by getting the extra 100,000 to begin with, you can buy the rest from the Free Trader until you can get on your feet. Use at least two lumberjacks for wood gathering and usually after building a market building, the money cheat will work again and sometimes the tool cheat. As for getting enough wood and other resources, I have no answer other than to dispatch enough players and gather these if they can't be obtained from the trader. Also a word of warning to make things a bit easier. If you use the single player, continuious start game, you can pretty much customize it the way you want to and, at least you don't have to worry about other traders, pirates and the queen. It would be nice if Cheat Happens would come out with a trainer for this one but, since it isn't that big a name game I rather doubt this will happen. I've used many trainers, some of which worked great but, I have yet to find trainers that are better than the ones made by Cheat Happens.

Actually the notion of a console to activate the cheats are wrong. You must simply rename your settlements to for example BonanzaCreek to receive intended effect. To use the cheats you must start a new Continuous game and not go right ahead from the tutorial. For some reson that will prevent the cheats from taking effect. I have not tried their effect in scenarios yet though.

Yeah i know - but it seems not longer working since Patch 1.02 !

Quite possibly because you upgraded with the patch. Cheats depend on memory locations as do trainers, and while I have found many cheats still work even after upgrading patches, some do not. I haven't gotten the 1.0 version of the cheats to work this time around though. They did last time I had the game on the computer several months back but, I'm doing something wrong this time around which I haven't figured out yet. A suggestion is, if you don't especially need the patch and it isn't any great shakes in features, uninstall the patch or uninstall and reinstall the game and go back to the original retail version.

I have found a trainer that works it is called the meggatrainer xl and it has all versions of anno 1701 up 10 version 1.04 not much in it though just freeze resources 1 and 2 and unlimited resources but this can muck up island production and muck up your warehouse men so use it sparingly and only when you need it as to the console it does not exsist
the only way to use the cheat codes is by re-naming your warehouse with the cheat code and as you said befors this does not allways work and can muck up other vital resources such as ships it tells you you have reached your ship limit of 120 ships yet i only had the 1 i started with sneaky 1 that 1.
