Medieval 2: Total War Message Board  

If your looking for unit name save it at custom battle, then go to sega/armies/.ccx open with notepad to look at the reference name used by program.

I have an issue with process_cq. Yes it works but unlike in RTW where you only had to type it once to get a whole building que done now you HAVE TO TYPE IT FOR EVERY BUILDING. Is there a way around this or am I doing something wrong?

This is by far THE best cheat reasource i have ever been graced upon comming to you people are so damn smart !Thanks by the way to who ever gave me the proper create_unit cheat by the way it helps alot. i hope that these get added to your cheat index it is shall we say... lacking ? thanks i hope we can find and post new cheats/exploits in here as well. By the way someone should make a strategy thread since most medieval total war noobs (like me) dont think that much when commanding a battle personaly.

@Jhon yes that is correctyour doing it fine the console works in weird ways make sure you do it when the building shows up as green in the construction circle or it wont work.

Guys i need help. i understand i need to look for unit names in the historic battle text files but well i just cant find the blasted things ! it would e helpful if you could give me the name of said file so i may use microsoft search to find it.

Thats of no help, god it used to be so easy. y the hell do u have to type it for every building.

Weeg you have to save an army for those files to apear. Go to costum battle editor. pick out the best soldiers for 1 country then above the units there will be a Save/Load Army button. Click it and save as the name of the country you picked.

Then you go to your M2: TW folder and open the newly created Armies folder. In there you open the .cax file with notepad.

The cheat is awesome sence you get to edit your troops. For example. If you want 4 longbowmen with 3gold bars (9 exp) and best weaps + armor then you write.

create_unit City "Dismounted Longbowmen" 4 9 3 3

4 is for the amount (max 5)
9 is for the exp (max 9)
3 is for weapon (max 3)
3 is for shield (max 3)

Oh and Jon you dont have to type it in every time. Once you have written the cheat and pressed enter, then just press the UP arrow on your keyboard and you will get your last command automaticly rewritten. Then all you have to do is press ENTER again and again

You're not doing anything wrong it's just how the game was built.

Someone in another thread gave us a good tip. You can simply hit the up arrow on your keyboard to repeat the previous typed cheat. It's like a copy/paste get-a-round.
