In the tower at the top of the mountain (where you get the moon pearl), I have no problems getting to the dungeon where I find the centipede (or something like it). To defeat it, I believe I have to hit the rattlesnake-like tail several times.

Any suggestions or help you can give me on how to do this so I can defeat the monster? I manage to get to 5 hits at the most but I can't get past it. Is the sword the only thing I can attack it with?

    Thanks for your help!

i am pretty sure it is but you might want to capture a fairy so you have more time to hit the things tail

Hey, thanks for the response. I was going nuts and then I figured out how to do it in an easier way (at least for me). Using the boots, racing towards the worm, hitting it head on and not too close to the edge, and it just seemed to get through the worm and hit the tail. I had to be patient and instead of the fairy, I had to use a bottle of magic (the red bottle), but I got through. Now I'm trying to figure out the dragon in the palace for the first crystal
